Eros vs. Sex: What is the difference?

Eros and Sex are two different levels of vibration that manifest through different aspirations, attitudes and habits.

What is Sex?

Today, I saw a tree erupting in the perfect pink blossoms and it reminded me of a long-lost paradise. I felt my world was complete. Yesterday, I passed the same tree and it went unnoticed. I was tired, grumpy and in a rush to push through life. The word sex derives from the Latin ‘sectio’ meaning separation. It is related to our animal nature; characterised by an obsession with pleasure, a lack of control and an instinctual desire to procreate. Fulfilling base desires and compulsively satisfying ephemeral pleasures brings attachment which, according to many Eastern spiritual traditions, is a principal cause of suffering. It is an unconscious programming in the body which, in its implications as a wider societal attitude, in fact contributes to many negative relational behaviours that people engage in, such as manipulation, objectification and abuse to name just a few.

What is Eros?

Eros is divine in etymology; it was the name given to a primordial creator God of love.
