Taoist fusion leads to ecstasy

The Taoist erotic tradition states that man is like fire: it ignites fast and burns out fast. The woman is like water: warming up slowly and cooling down slowly. By harmoniously combining those energies we can open the gates of ecstasy. While the masculine orgasm tends to be zonal, physiological and mostly sexual that of the woman is diffuse, lived in the whole body and with deep psychological echoes.

Yin and Yang enrich each other

Many Taoist and Tantric manuscripts talk about the superiority of the woman regarding eroticism. Particularly during love-making, the woman has the tendency to fully abandon herself and this allows her, in return, to experience sensual voluptuousness and her soul in its utmost intensity.

The man even when totally in love, has the tendency to want to control everything.  He is focused on penetrating his lover’s yoni and thus he is far more aware of his body than of hers, like a sportsman who works out at the gym.

Through Taoist and Tantric practice and love fusions both man and woman have a lot to learn from each other.

The masculine orgasm tends to acquire feminine aspects and become more encompassing, expanding in all the body, reverberating both at an emotional and spiritual level. The man learns how to maintain his lucidity and acquire perfect control over his body, not through contraction but in a state of relaxation.

The woman is mastering her own states better and better, becomes more lucid, more centred in her own sensations, being thus capable to become more aware and to crystallise her elevated erotic experiences.

A state of totality in expansion

In a Taoist erotic fusion, the lovers take one from another the aspects that complement them. In this manner they complete each other, like an androgyne – the primal being, man and woman at the same time – a state described by many spiritual traditions of the world as being the superior existential condition of life.

The lovers form together a wholeness that expands and has an ascending direction. Even from an anatomical point of view the woman has the shape of a cup. Her body is built to receive in herself another being.

The man also fulfils, through erotic merging, his longing for an incessant uplifting, and is exactly what he symbolically does when his sexual organ becomes erect.

Another type of orgasm

Even if the term ”orgasm”  is used mainly in connection with erotic experiences, many people have lived this state in circumstances that had no erotic stimulus at all: when they have a genius idea, created a work of art, enjoyed a wondrous sunset, or watched a film that profoundly touched them.

Why do we say that these are orgasmic experiences? They are so intense that time seems to be suspended. The perception of the present gives us a hint of what NOW really means; we feel completely absorbed in that specific action or situation.

It is what psychologists have called the state of flow that is identical with the states of spontaneous trance that great inventors or artist experience, as well as those people who are completely focused while doing things that they are passionate about. It is a mental state that overcomes daily routine. It is a state of ecstasy that indicates entering in realms of an alternative reality.

Experiences beyond the body

The description of the flow state as defined by the psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi perfectly match the Taoist and Tantric type of orgasm that represents far more than just an overflow of erotic sensations.

In a Tantric erotic fusion, there are moments when the brain fully stops, and the pleasure transforms into an all-embracing, multi-dimensional voluptuousness, that propels the being into a profound state of self, beyond the limits of personality and of everyday life.

All forms of egoism disappear, and we even cease to identify ourselves with the body – the source of all our sensations.

It is a state that the yogis know from meditation, and those who practice both meditation and Taoist or Tantric lovemaking say that the second is the easier and more pleasant way of attaining the same result.

In permanent bliss, like God

Taoist and Tantric orgasm is not only erotic, it is by definition sacred in its nature. It is the way of being in a permanent state of divine bliss, alike God. It is not that the orgasm must be sacralised, it should rather be “desexualized”. To believe that the orgasm is only sexual is like having an entire piano keyboard but stubbornly playing one and the same key every day.

The sexual part of the orgasm is only the tip of the iceberg. What is hidden under the water is far more ample and complex. It all depends on us, to open up our consciousness and explore it.
